[Update 02/10/2015] – The city council approved the Planning Commission’s recommendation tonight. This means 1075 Pomeroy will not be rezoned to PD. Thank you all for taking the time out to speak and to show your support for the community.
Because of our active participation, the Planning Commission recommends that Pomeroy 1075 NOT be rezoned, and at this meeting the Council will vote on that recommendation. It’s important for us to show up at the meeting – not necessarily to speak, but to demonstrate our unity and commitment against this proposed development. Please join us in attending this meeting and help the Council make the right decision on February 10.

- Directions:
- East on El Camino and left on Lincoln Street
- Turn right on Warburton.
- Third driveway on one’s right turn into the parking area.
- There is a sign on the right, Council Chambers. Walk up the ramp, turn right into the Chamber area.
Rezoning Summary
The purpose of the rezoning is to allow the developer to do the following:
- Build closer to the property boundaries than would otherwise be allowed.
- Build at a higher density than would otherwise be allowed.
This development project will have a strong negative impact on our fellow neighbors directly adjoining the project. Due to the large windows we have to enjoy our backyards with, the proximity and the height of the proposed buildings will result in significant loss of privacy for these neighbors.
What to expect at the City Council Meeting (From Peggy Parkin)
- Overall time is usually 2 minutes per speaker. (There have been times when more time is allowed.) If one’s presentation is expected to go over the time limit have a person take over to complete the presentation.
- Even if a new Pomeroy Green resident your appearance is appreciated and also if you wish to speak of why you purchased a Pomeroy Green Townhome, the design, the home space, the open space for the residents especially with children, the location within Santa Clara, etc. , the Eichler architecture.
- A Speaking Card is filled out at the beginning to go before Council or may speak when the Mayor indicates, Open to the Floor, etc.
- If the overhead screen is required for presentation then there will be a deadline into the City Clerk’s Office usually one week prior to request and with your items to be viewed.
- Have copies for the council members (7) just in case the buzzer ends (the Clerk will distribute).
