On March 24th, we received the great news that our Silicon Valley Power (services Santa Clara and our Pomeroy Green complex). Silicon Valley Power has serviced our community for decades and we are so proud to hear of this award. We are also thankful to Silicon Valley Power in providing us with consistent and uninterrupted power.

“Silicon Valley Power (SVP) has earned the American Public Power Association’s Safety Award of Excellence (APPA) for safe operating practices in 2020. The utility earned a first place award in the category for utilities with 250,000 – 999,999 worker-hours of annual worker exposure, meaning that it had a perfect score with an incidence rate of zero. Brandon Wylie, Chair of APPA’s Safety Committee and Director of Training & Safety at Electric Cities of Georgia, introduced the award during APPA’s annual Engineering & Operations Virtual Conference.
“Utilities that receive an APPA Safety Award have demonstrated that they have made the health and safety of their employees a core value,” said Wylie. “Designing and maintaining a top-notch utility safety program takes a lot of hard work and commitment. These utilities and their communities should be very proud.”
